Polymerisation catalyst for alkenes - from titanium and, diorganomagn cpds and organoaluminum halide

Polymsn. catalyts for alkenes comprise for alkenes comprise (a) a hydro-carbon-soluble Ti cpd., (b) a diorganomagnesium cpd. which is soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents and (c) an organoaluminium halide. The catalysts are prepd. by mixing the components in an inert aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent using a ratio (a):(b):(c) of 0.01-1 / 1-3 / 5-10 and 0.0001-1.0 mol/1. Ti. The catalysts are active at elevated temps. and polymsn. can be carried out at 0-2000 degrees C (esp. 50-150 degrees C) and 1-1500 atm. (esp. 7-340 atm.). Catalysts are esp. used for prodn. of EODM and EPDM rubbers.
