PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound by a simple method in high yield, by reacting an unsaturated hydrocarbon with CO, an alcohol and a molecular oxygen-containing gas in the presence of a catalyst system obtained by adding a solid basic compound to a specific metal. CONSTITUTION:In the presence of a specific catalyst, an unsaturated hydrocarbon is reacted with CO, an alcohol, and molecular oxygen, to give a dicarboxylic acid diester. A catalyst obtained by adding a solid basic compound to halides of a platinum group metal (preferably Pd), iron and/or copper is used as the catalyst. CaCO3, NaCO3, etc. may be cited as the basic compound. The reaction is carried out under pressure at 5-300kg/cm<2> at 20-200 deg.C. |
