PURPOSE:To prevent decomposition of CaF2 generated at mixing and make a weld zone excellent by adding raw material of CaF2 after raw mateials containing SiO2 and MnO was melted, in producing a flux containing prescribed amounts of SiO2, MnO and CaF2. CONSTITUTION:In a container for raw materials which is devided into two compartments through a partition wall 2, raw material 4 containing MnO and SiO2 is charged into one chamber and raw material 5 containing CaF2 charged into another chamber, respectively, so that the composition is made to be in the ratio of 20- 55wt% SiO2, 20-50wt% MnO and 1-10wt% CaF2. Then an opening 6 for discharge is opened and the raw material 4 is charged into and is melted in a melting furnace. Next, a damper 8 is opened and the raw material 5 is charged and is mixed. By the above way, the decomposition of CaF2 is prevented, therefore, the generation of pits and blow holes is inhibited. |
