PURPOSE:To prevent a work from being deformed and slipped due to grinding resistance, by transmitting clamping force of a clamping member through a pressing fixture abutting against the whole periphery of one end surface portion of the work, so as to evenly clamp the work. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical work W is fitted to and held by a supporting end portion 14a of a guide rod 14, and a slit W1 formed in the work W is engaged with a driving and engaging portion 29. Then, an actuating cylinder 15 is operated to advance a pusher shaft 13 toward a spindle head 1. The rod 14 moves and stops together with the movement of the pusher shaft 13 which continues the advance movement so as to make a relative movement with respect to the guide rod 14 while compressing a spring 25. A pressing member 28 advances along with a holding member 27 so as to push the work W on the supporting portion 14a toward a supporting shaft 3. A locking groove 31 formed in the pressing member 28 takes a position just above a clamping member 8 through which the member 28 evenly pushes the whole periphery of one end portion of the work W. |
