The thermometer essentially consists of a quartz resonator (2) excited in torsional mode which delivers an electrical signal whose frequency is representative of the temperature to which it is subjected. The angle phi of cut of the quartz and the ratio b DIVIDED a between the thickness (b) and the width (a) are chosen so that the second order temperature coefficient is zero. A linear relationship between the temperature and the electrical signal delivered is thus obtained. <IMAGE>
