PURPOSE:To enable the relatively rapid identifcation of microorganism, by using an identification plate furnished with a plurality of mutually separated closed-end cylinders having convex bottoms, wherein the medium for the identification of microorganism is annularly attached to the circumferential part of the bottom of each cylinder. CONSTITUTION:The plate 10 for the identification of microorganism is composed of the main body 11 of the plate and a plurality of cylinders 12, each of which has a concave bottom 13. The surface of the main body of the plate is made to the written with a letter, etc. at the part 14 corresponding to the position of each cylinder. The identification media 20a-20r suitable for the identification reactions are attached annularly to the circumferential part of the bottom of the cylinders. To carry out the identification of a microorganism, the specimen liquid prepared by conventional method is poured in each cylinder, and cultured. The matted surface of the plate corresponding to each cylinder is marked with the symbol (+) or (-) according to the positivity or negativity of the reaction. The identification of the microorganism can be achieved by collectively judging the marks.
