The valve controls the flow of fluid under pressure into or out of e.g an aerosol cannister, utilising a closure sprung poppet which slides axially in a hollow cylindrical body. The top of the body is closed by an airtight seal which is secured by a circlip and has a central aperture. The bore of the body decreases to traverse the base, and elastic tongues cantilever upwards from the base towards the poppet. The tongues surround the foot of the poppet, deflect elastically outwards when the poppet moves downward and away from the seal, and return the poppet to the closure station abutting the seal. The tongue to poppet contact faces may be reciprocally bevelled.
