<p>The internal-expanding brake has two shoes mounted on a backplate, being particularly for a trailer with an overruning brake mechanism. Between the ends of one pair of shoes there is a floating actuating mechanism, moving for a greater distance when reversing than when travelling forwards, while there is an adjusting mechanism between the other pair of shoe ends. The adjusting mechanism (24) is actuated by a drive (32) operated only in the forwards direction of rotation (V) by movement of the leading shoe (3), under the effect of movement of the actuating mechanism (7) between the released and applied positions.</p> |
