PURPOSE:To reduce the charging time of a commutating capacitor, by applying the control signal to a switching member in the state under which a high level of voltage caused by a trigger capacitor is applied to a main electrode of the switching member. CONSTITUTION:The charging voltage of a trigger capacitor 10 is applied between the anode and the cathode of a switching member SCR7 when the preparation is completed for the emission of light. In such conditions, the control signal is supplied to the gate of the SCR7 by the discharged current of a starting capacitor 12 if a trigger switch 11 is closed. Thus the SCR conducts. Thus the charged electric charge of the capacitor 10 is discharged via the primary coil, etc. of a trigger transformer 8, and accordingly, the high voltage generated to the secondary coil of the transformer 8 is applied to an exciting electrode 6a of a flash discharge tube 6 in the form of the trigger voltage. As a result, the tube 6 has the emission of light. In such constitution, the on-action can be greatly facilitated for the switching member to reduce the charging time of a commutating capacitor. |
