The device has a retaining ring (A) and at least two locking jaws (F) which can be displaced and fixed in radial guides of the retaining ring (A). Each locking jaw (F) bears a bracket-shaped double claw (3) which partially engages, on both sides, over the radially inner surface, directed towards the central axis of the chuck, of the associated clamping jaw (K) of the chuck.
