The disposable splash guard is made of a steam-permeable non-inflammable paper or other economical material designed to be thrown away after use. The splash guard which can be perforated to allow the steam to pass through is pref. circular and can be ribbed or corrugated which reinforces the paper. The splash guards which could be reinforced or indeed made of aluminium foil are designed for stacking in a pile. They preferably have at least one area which is transparent to allow the cooking process to be viewed.
