PURPOSE:To save heat energy and cost by a method wherein a heat accumulating type carbonization heat source is provided at a gravity type powdered coal outlet of a coal storage tank and said heat source is heated by a burner from inside so that the powdered coal is burned due to carbonization pyrolysis, in the captioned smokeless coal burning apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The hollow conical heat accumulating type carbonization heat source 2 is provided at the gravity type powdered coal outlet of the towerlike coal storage tank 1 so that the flowing amount of the powdered coal is properly controled. The powdered coal is subjected to carbonization pyrolysis while it contacts with the heat source 2 and flows downward and a gasified component G<1> of the coal flows into a gas combustion chamber 5. Further, the resultant semi-coke is burned in a solid combustion chamber 3 with the aid of primary air introduced into the chamber 3 through a grid 4 and the resultant high temperature hot exhaust gas G<2> heats the heat source 2 and flows into a combustion chamber 5 where it joins the gasified component G<1> which is now added with a sufficient quantity of secondary air so that the gasified component G<1> is heated to a temperature higher than its burning temperature and is burned completely. A fluid fuel burner 8 heats the heat source 2 to a suitable heat accumulation temperature from inside as a preliminary operation for starting the combustion operation of the powdered coal and is removed after it has heated the heat source to a sufficient degree. |
