The invention provides an anti-tumor agent evidenced to be effective in suppressing the growth of Ehrlich's cancer cells, Lewis lung cancer cells and B-16 melanoma cells both in vitro and in vivo tests, which comprises, as an effective ingredient thereof, an omega -(aminoalkylthio)alkyl trihydrocarbyl silane of the general formula R3Si-(-CH2-)m-S-(-CH2-)n-NR<1>2, in which R is a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R<1> is an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms or a hydrogen atom and m and n are each an integer from 1 to 6, or a salt form thereof such as hydrochloride or acetate: In particular, 2-(2-amino-ethylthio)ethyl trimethyl silane, which is a novel compound not reported in prior art literatures, was synthesized and tested for the anti-tumor activity.
