The side pincushion correction circuit has an impedance circuit in series with the deflection coil. A controlled switch coupled in a branch of the impedance circuit is operated during the second half of the horizontal retrace interval at time which are progressively advanced during the first half of vertical interval and retarded during second half of vertical interval. Enhanced inside pincushion distortion correction is provided when the impedance circuit includes a capacitor coupled in series with the switch.
