PURPOSE:To manufacture a typwriter excellent in resolving power and capable of precise printing by a method wherein the light image of a character is irradiated on a photoconductive, thermoplastic transfer tape and this image is used as a printing medium. CONSTITUTION:The light image of a desired character by the light from a light source which passes through a negative dial plate 7 is focused through an electroconductive transparent film on a transfer film 12 on which photoconductive thermoplastic solid ink is coated to a form a latent image (marks 1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10 showing optical systems, mark 6 showing a shutter). Then, voltage is applied between a transparent electrode 11 and an electrode 13, electric current is let to flow to the part corresponding to the character and this part is melted and charged. Then, after the electrode 13 is escaped, a blank 14 is brought into contact with the transfer tape 12, an electric field is applied between the transparent electrode 11 and an electrode 15, charged ink is adsorbed by and transferred to the printing paper 14. |
