PURPOSE:To increase the compressing efficiency, by changing the multi-value time series signal having an inclination of occurring frequency into an unequal length code and then coding the value of the signal delivered most frequently among the unequal length code signals with the code showing the duration. CONSTITUTION:The input signal is coded by a DPCM coder 3 and then converted into a multi-value time series signal having an inclination of the occurring frequency and displayed in a binary code to be delivered to a signal line 100. This output is applied to a timing control circuit 3, and a code showing the run length on the time series of the value of the highest using frequency is obtained by the 2nd code generator 4. Then an unequal length code showing the level of the multi-value signal is obtained by the 1st coder 5. The codes supplied from the coders 4 and 5 are integrated by a multiplexer. This integrated code is converted into a parallel l-bit data through an unequal length code array converting circuit 7 to be stored in a memory 8 after rearranging the unequal length codes in the order of generation. |
