PURPOSE:To read surely a character pattern by a method wherein a character pattern subjected to photoelectric conversion is rotated in the standard direction according to contents of a directional mode register in which a data showing a read-out direction of the character pattern has been written, and versatility is given to the read-out direction of the character pattern entered in a card. CONSTITUTION:Output data of an arithmetic logic operating unit 44 are set in a column address register 46 or 49 respectively as a column address data by execution of a command from a microprogram memory 40, and row address data are set in a row address register 47 or 50. Further, contents stored in a cut-out character memory 48 according to an output controlling signal CS of a decoder 45 and assignment of register 46, 48, 49, 50 is written in a cut character memory 11. At the time of this read and write, by rotating the direction of read in the standard direction by AND circuits 81, 82 that takes an output of the directional mode register 52 as an input and an inverter 80, recognization of a character pattern in a recognizing part 54 is made to be accurate. |
