Polish contains organic solvent(s), hydrophobising agent (I) for the surface, emulsifier, water and optical whitener (II). Pref. (I) is a wax or amino-functional silicone oil. Pref. (II) contains aminocoumarins and derivs. e.g. ethyl 5,6-benzocoumarin- 3-carboxylate, pyrazine deriv., pyrazoline deriv., methin (oxacyanine) cpd., benzoaxazolyl-styryl deriv. and/or stilbene deriv.. The polish can also contain polishing chalk. The polish increases the brilliance of the lacquer.
