PURPOSE:To make the handling of a magnetic tape easy and to save the processing time, by setting a magnetic tape volume designated to an arbitrary vacant magnetic tape device. CONSTITUTION:A VOLSER 7 references a job buffer 8 and a unit control block at the start of execution of a job and outputs a message instructing the mounting of the volume unless a magnetic tape required for the execution of job is mounted. When the operator sets a magnetic tape on a magnetic tape device and an AVR is finished to recognize the volume name of the magnetic tape, the completion is informed to the VOLSER 7 with interruption. The magnetic tape volume name recognized with the AVR 13 is given to a unit contol block 12 to renew it. The interruption from a job start section 9, from a user center routine 10 and the AVR 13 triggers the job start. |
