Carbon brush with lead cable - is produced by inserting cable end in brush bore and pressing wedge into transverse bore and opening into cable retaining bore

The process is used for production of a carbon brush together with a lead cable with oscillation-resistant cable fastening. One end of the cable (3) is inserted in a bore (1) of the carbon brush body (2). Then a pressing wedge (6) is forced from outside into a transverse bore (4), opening into the cable bore. The wedge deforms the cable section where they come into contact. An adhesive of good conductivity is used for securing the cable in the brush body bore. The compression wedge may be secured in the transverse bore. The spot of the cable emerging from the carbon brush body is annularly widened for reception of a silicone rubber. The transverse bore may extend beyond the cable bore. The outer end may be closed by the adhesive good electric conductivity. The compression wedge may be of plastically deformable metal.
