The rope pulley comprises two mirror-image halves joined together. They form a peripheral groove between them accommodating a base ring with an interchangeable insert ring above it. The modulus of elasticity of the insert ring material is smaller than that of the base ring material. The halves (1) each have a first cone face (4) forming the base of the groove, and a second one (6) narrowing the groove towards the outside and forming a side wall. A third cone face, joining the second one, widens the groove again. The base ring (3) is split, and bears against the first cone faces. Thus, as the halves are secured together, it exerts a radial clamping force on the insert ring (5).PS.
