PURPOSE:To improve the initial compatibility of a metallic traveler with a ring and reduce the yarn breakage and traveler burn, by means of an Ni-Co-P alloy layer on the inner surface of the metallic traveler, and forming a lubricating film between the ring and the metallic traveler. CONSTITUTION:An Ni-Co-P alloy layer 3, preferably containing 10-60% Co, 1- 15% P and the remainder Ni, is formed on at least the inner surface to be in contact with a ring of a metallic traveler 1 for a fine spinning frame, twisting frame, etc. to give a thickness of 15mu. The resultant film may be heat-treated at 200-400 deg.C for 1-2hr if necessary to further increase the hardness HV from 400-700 by 50- 200. EFFECT:The traveler can be readily magnetized due to the improved magnetic characteristics of the alloy plating layer. |
