PURPOSE:To give step shift control to a head, by installing a detecting means that compares the voltage signal corresponding to the level of a reproduced signal with the reference voltage signal and detecting the reference voltage signal control command plus the count value of a counter which measures the time from the detection of the said detecting means to the detection of coincidence. CONSTITUTION:The voltage signal having a level corresponding to the tracking state of a recording/reproduction head 11 is supplied to a wave detecting circuit 22 and a comparator 23. A transistor 27 is made nonconductive by a control command for the initial measurement given from a control circuit 26. Then a capacitor C0 is charged to start the counting of a counter 25. The terminal voltage of a capacitor is compared with the voltage value given from the circuit 22 through the comparator 23. When coincidence is obtained, the counting of the counter 25 is discontinued. The count value is stored in the circuit 26, and at the same time a driving command is given to a motor driving circuit 28. Then a head 10 is shifted by a slight extent toward the tape width direction. |
