PURPOSE:To obtain a high S/N ratio even although the output of the laser beam is reduced, by carrying out the recording with a vertical recording magnetic head and then the reproducing through an optical reproducing head using the laser beam. CONSTITUTION:On a magnetooptic disk 1, a thin film of an amorphous ferrimagnetic substance or a crystalline magnetic substance such as MuBi, MuBiCu is formed. When recording, the current changing its direction according to the information to be recorded is applied to an energizing coil 9. Thus the direction of the magnetic field energized between a main magnetic pole 7 and auxiliary magnetic pole 6 is changed upper and lower sides. In accordance with the direction of the magnetic field, the recording of the bit by bit is carried out with an alignment in one direction. When erasing the recorded bits, DC current is applied to the coil 9. When reproducing, a laser beam 11' is irradiated to the magnetic thin film. |
