The profiled co-extrusions, as sections, sheets or tubes, are made from a feedstock of mixed and soiled plastic waste with minimal energy expenditure. Coarse sorting classifies the sheet, hollow-ware and canisters, separating the refuse and foreign matter. The object is to recover the plastic fractions, which are shredded into staple lengths. They are then surfused, i.e. surface heated and melted; pressed into bales, which are strapped-up as pallets. Efficient transport in this form to the special extruder and co-extruder plant follows; there, the plastic is co-extruded with a controlled wall thickness; no further preparation is required.
