摘要 <p>The flowmeter comprises a tube (1) in which a conductive liquid flows, two electrodes (2a,2b), and a magnetic circuit (4) which produces a magnetic field in a direction normal to both the liquid flow direction and the line joining the electrodes. A flow rate calculator (3) which determines the flow rate from the voltage produced between the electrodes. A unit (7) controls both the excitation current generator (6) and the flow rate calculator (3). The excitation current is intermittent with an alternately inversed polarity with a short duration. The flow rate calculator (3) determines the flow only during a predetermined period, beginning when the remanent flux in the magnetic circuit (4), after suppression of the excitation current, is at its stable state, and ending when the excitation current is started.</p>
