<p>The structure for a folding wheelchair has two square frames (1,2) between which the seat is supported each with a large wheel (6,7) attached, and with a castor wheel (4,5) at the front of each. These frames are attached to a rod frame (11) near the front forming a cross member, and each has a handle (25,26) attached to its rear. These are interconnected by a further folding cross member (57). These arms are each attached to vertical and horizontal rod portions (59,62) and linkages (63,64) which control the collapse of the folding cross member. This occurs when the two arms are swung from a vertical to a horizontal position by rotation about an axis (60).</p> |
