PURPOSE:To prevent marine creatures from clinging to the outside plate of a hull and avoid the increase in the frictional resistance on the hull on the voyage, by bonding highly anticontaminating copper or alloy of copper in the main with an adhesive to the outside plate of the hull. CONSTITUTION:An anticontaminating metal 2 is bonded with an adhesive 3 to the outside plate 1 of a hull. Copper or copper alloy containing manganese, tin, aluminum or the like is used as the anticontaminating metal 2. Thermoplastic resin such as polyvinyl formal, polyvinyl butyral and copolymerized nylon, thermosetting resin such as epoxy resinand phenol resin or the like, which functions to conjoin the outside plate 1 and the anticontaminating metal 2 to each other and functions as an electric insulator, is used as the adhesive 3. |
