<p>The safety valve housing (3) contains a flat bimetal element (13). This is clamped in place so that on reaching a predetermined temp. it snaps out of its open position into an upwardly curved closed position whereby pressing the valve body (7) with its lower reinforcement (8) to adjoin the annular bead face (10) or causing the valve plate to close the steam outlet opening (9). The safety valVe now operates in dependence on the temp. e.g. always closing at a temp. of 100 deg. C, i.e. the temperature of steai, thus as soon as steam at approx. 100 deg. C flows through the valve the bimetal element heats up. The steam pressure then keeps the valve body in the closed position.</p> |
