摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To economize energy, by providing a pulley clutch mechanism at the side of a driving shaft to reduce a torque loss in the nonoperation of a cooler to decrease the load on an engine. CONSTITUTION:A pulley 13 for driving a compressor is rotatably supported by a bearing 15 on the crankshaft 12 of an engine. A fan pulley 14 can also function as a clutch mechanism and is secured on the crankshaft 12 by a key 16. A disc 17 is provided inside the driving pulley 13 and fixedly supported on the pulley 13 by a return spring 18. An electromagnetic coil 19 is retained by a front block 20 and extends into the pulley 14. According to this constitution, the pulleys 13, 14 and a belt can be stopped without racing when the compressor does not need to be driven. A torque loss is thus reduced.</p>
