The hydraulically assisted power steering for a vehicle includes a worm wheel drive (8,9) with the worm mounted on an input shaft connected with the steering wheel. This rotates against a worm wheel (9) inside a hollow block connected by a spherical joint with a pin (10) carrying the ball (101) attached to a piston rod (11) with a piston of each end. These pistons move a drive in the steering linkage. Hydraulic fluid under pressure acts on a joint on the input shaft. This forms an angle collector for a positive or negative force applied by the steering wheel for the direction of the assisting force, applied by the spherical joint.
|
