The oscillation suppressor for the crankshaft of a multiple cylinder engine such as a hydraulic lifting engine consists of a hydraulic damping section combined with a resilient section. The hydraulic section consists of a ring (1) mounted on the crankshaft with a hollow section housing a ring (2) filled with a high viscosity oil. Around the outside is mounted an outer damping ring (5) approximately rectangular in cross section and between them is a resilient cushioning layer (4). The inside surface of the outer ring consists of two sloping parts, so that it is assembled by compressing the resilient cushion.
