<p>The back-pressure filling machine is for fizzy drinks. The bottles are evacuated in succession, pressurised with inert gas and filled, using tubeless filler heads with automatically opening fluid valves and central gas pipes extending into the bottles. The vacuum and gas passages are separately controlled. In addition to the gas chamber, the machine has a separate one for returned gas, maintained at a lower temp. The filler heads are connected by drillings and passages at top and bottom to the filling vessel and also separately at the top to the returned gas chamber. The two passages in the top chamber of each head remaining free from fluid have externally-actuated controls opening and shutting them alternately.</p> |
