<p>A replaceable cutter swivel assembly (50) is adapted to be mounted on a planetary assembly (20) of an orbital shape generating apparatus for orbiting the swivel assembly and its associated cutter (56) about a workpiece. The cutter swivel assembly has a gear train providing a predetermined helix angle and gear ratios for particular shape generating requirements. Means is also provided for adjusting the distance between the cutter axis and the workpiece axis to facilitate adjusting or presetting of the cutter swivel assembly for a predetermined depth of cut. </p> |
