The front wheel (1) of a vehicle with front wheel drive has a brake disc (3) attached to its hub (4) by bolts (2). This hub has a ring shaped extension (16) which slopes downwards towards an inner section, carrying a set of ball bearings (6). The sloping region has openings (15) through it, causing a swirling flow of air (17) to cool the braking system. The brake disc, which is shaped to fit over the hub, also has air circulating holes (5) projecting radially outwards. These holes are close to the openings and in line with them, so that part of the cooling air passes through them.
|
