A thermo-electric heat pump serving to cool or to heat a thermally insulated storage space (cupboard, box, tank, etc.) comprises two or more identical units (15, 16, Fig. 3) or groups, each of which transmits a portion of the heat flow. The units or groups are operated by a common source of direct current, for instance a storage battery, to which they are connected by means of a changeover switch (b) either in parallel with each other, for swift cooling or heating of the storage space to a desired storage temperature, or in series with each other, when a steady-state condition is to be maintained. |
