A method of propagating plants from seed in which the seed is located at the upper surface of a plant growth medium which has its base portion in contact with a liquid plant nutrient in which the plant growth medium comprises an absorbent layer of fibres between and in contact with layers of a synthetic polymer foam in which the layers are arranged in a direction generally perpendicular to the upper surface and the liquid plant nutrient contacting base portion and plant growth mediums therefor are described. |
