An arrangement designed for attachment to a bed and fitted with a base 7 for the bed. In order to raise this bed base and move it out of the bed in an essentially horizontal plane, two pivoting arm mechanisms are attached to the two ends of the bed. Each of these mechanisms comprises a first arm 9,9' that is supported, with its first end 12,12', in a bearing on a part of a stand 8, and, with its other end 14,14', in a bearing located at the first end of another, longer arm 10,10', which second arm is connected to a bearing shaft 18,18', coupled in turn to a supporting beam 20,26. A third arm 11,11' has a first end 21, which is mounted in a bearing in a part of the stand, and a second end, which is flexibly mounted in a bearing located in a pivot arm that is connected to the supporting beam. The first and the third arm can perform synchronized swivelling movements. A lifting mechanism 38,39 is provided between the supporting beam and the base of the bed. <IMAGE> |
