RECOVERY OF SULFUR IN DRY TYPE FLUE GAS DESULFURIZATION APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To prevent the poisoning of a Clause catalyst by halogen as well as reduce the operation cost for pretreatment by mixing NH3 gas in the flue gas in order ?to remove halogen present in the flue gas as a pretreatment process. CONSTITUTION:NH3 gas 3 is mixed in a gas 1 containing high concenrations of H2S and SO2 in an ammonia mixer 2, where halogenated substances present in the gas are reacted with NH3 to form the halides of NH3. Then, the gas is brought into contact with liquid sulfur in a scrubber 4 to remove the halides of NH3 and dust, cleaned gas is directed into a Clause reactor 5, and sulfur formed is sent to a condenser through a duct 6 to recover it in the form of liquid sulfur. Dust mixed in the liquid sulfur in the scrubber 4 is removed by a sulfur filter 7 and then discharged through a discharge pipe 8 to the outside.
