PURPOSE:To make a booster shell light in weight by mounting a sleeve, penetrating a booster piston, between the front and rear walls of the booster shell and connecting the walls by a tie rod. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve 32 penetrating a booster piston 2 is mounted between the front and rear walls of a booster shell 1 and these walls are connected by a tie rod 40 fitted in the sleeve 32, where the tie rod 40 transmits the front thrust load to the car body. A rolling diaphragm is also stretched across the distance between a booster piston 2 and a sleeve 32 to secure air-tightness at the sleeve penetration hole. The tie rod 40 and booster shell 1 are arranged separately, so that the time 40 can be easily replaced. Accordingly, it is not essential to give the booster shell 1 a high rigidity, so that the shell 1 can be made of plastics or rather thin steel plate. |
