<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a synthetic intermedite for medicines in high yield, by reacting 4-indolyloxy derivative with oxazolidin-2-one derivative as raw materials. CONSTITUTION:A 4-indolyloxy derivative of formula I (Y is H or metallic atom, e.g. Na, K or Al) is reacted with an oxazolidin-2-one derivative of formula II (R is alkyl; X is halogen, alkyl or arylsulfonyloxy), preferably in a solvent, in the presence of a base under ordinary pressure at 50-150 deg.C for several hours to give an oxazolidinone derivative, e.g. 5-(4-indolyloxymethyl)-3-isoporpyloxazolidin-2-one, of formula III. USE:A synthetic intermediate for 4-(2-hydroxy-3-alkylaminopropoxy)indole (pindolol) useful for the remedy and prevention of arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation or coronary arterial diseases.</p> |
