PURPOSE:A bacterium in Flavobacterium, capable of producing coenzyme Q10, is cultured to produce coenzyme Q10 efficiently and it is collected. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium in Flavobacterium such as Flavobacterium capsulatum or Flavobacterium lutescens is cultured in a medium that contains carbon sources, nitrogen sources such as ammonium sulfate or ammonium chloride and other trace nutritions and permits the growth of the bacterium. The cultivation is aerobically conducted, e.g., by the aeration and agitation cultivation or shaking one and coenzyme Q10 is obtained from the bacterium cells. The extraction of coenzyme Q10 is effected by a usual method, e.g. transferring it in a nonpolar solvent after saponification, methanol extraction under heating or transferring it in a nonpolar organic solvent. |
