PURPOSE:To make the phase deviation of polarized components of P and S produced by reflection equal by constituting the titled film of 3 layers of optical thin films, and making the refractive indices of the 1st and 3rd layers successively from transparent body side lower than the refractive index of the transparent body and the refractive index of the 2nd layer higher than that of the transparent body. CONSTITUTION:This film is constituted of 3 layers of optical thin films 16, 17, 18, wherein the refractive indices of the 1st and 3rd layers 16, 18 counted from transparent body 2 side are made smaller than the refractive index of a transparent body 2, and the refractive index of the 2nd layer 17 is made larger than the refractive index of the body 2. For example, the body 2 is made of Bi12SiO20, the 1st layer and 3rd layers 16, 18 of SiO2 and the 2nd layer 17 of SiH. Then, part of the light beam from the body 2 goes through the 1st layer 16 on account of tunnel effect, and multireflects in the form of a zigzag path in the 2nd layer 17. The light beams multireflected by tunnel effect from the 2nd layer 17 return again to the body 2. The beams having gone through a series of these processes and the light beams reflected between the body 2 and the 1st layer are combined, and the mismatching of the phases between the P polarized components and S polarized components in each of both light beams is eliminated by changing the thickneses of the thin films of the 1st and 2nd layers 16 17. |
