PURPOSE:To improve both sealing and lubrication performance by putting between a fixed side member and a rotation side member a nonmagnetic lubricant not mutually soluble with the magnetic fluid existing between magnetic fluid seals and a rotation side member. CONSTITUTION:As for the constitution in which a rotation side member 12 is arranged on the inner peripheral side of a pair of magnetic fluid seals 15 and 16 fixed on a fixed side member 11, magnetic fluid is put into the seal gap 25 between the magnetic fluid seal 15 and the rotation side member 12, and nonmagnetic lubricant 26 not mutually soluble the solvent existing in the seal gap 25 is put into a pair of magnetic fluid seals 15 and 16. As the lubricant 26 is not mutually soluble with the magnetic fluid in the seal gap 25, the lubricant 26 having good lubrication performance and the magnetic fluid having good sealing performance can be selected independently, so both sealing lubrication performance can be improved at the same time. |
