PURPOSE:To prevent occurrences of cracks and oxide film at the time of working, by forming a heat resisting film in advance on the surface, when boron made pipes are cut or pierced by means of a laser beam. CONSTITUTION:Cantilevers to be used for pickup cartridges are manufactured to have pipe shapes from an amorphous boron by a chemical evaporation method. When this boron made pipe is cut or pierced by means of a laser, a boron pipe 1 is immerged into a dilute solution of an organic silicon compound, and dried for 30-90min at approx. 100 deg.C temperature after it is taken out from the solution. Then, the pipe is baked at >=300 deg.C temperature and a transparent and heat resisting SiO2 film 7 having a thickness of several hundred Angstrom -several mu is formed. When cutting or piercing works are made on this boron made pipe with a laser beam 2, no cracks will be produced in the boron made pipe 1 and its mechanical strength will not be lowered by oxidation. |
