PURPOSE:To enable to attach the shaft of a handle actuating member fixed to the handle for actuating a valve of a gas cylinder with ease to the gas cylinder without changing the gas piping, by employing such an arrangement that the turning of the shaft is controlled by a spring which urges the shaft to turn the same in one direction. CONSTITUTION:The pin 8 of a handle actuating member 7 having a handle 9 is fixed to the valve actuating handle 3 of a gas cylinder 2, and a shaft 9 is supported in a freely rotatable manner by a frame 10, which is fixed to the gas cylinder 2 by an adjustable member 18, arcuate guide 19, rod 23, post 26, etc. The inner end of a spring 11 is fixed to the shaft 9 while the outer end of the spring 11 is fixed to the inner wall surface of the frame 10. Normally, turning of the shaft 9 by the spring 11 is prevented by a shaft locking and releasing means 12. However, when a signal is given from a gas-leakage detector, a solenoid 16 is energized and a pawl 14 is disengaged from a ratchet wheel 13, so that the shaft 9 is turned in a direction B by the spring 11. This causes turning of the handle 3 in its closing direction by the pin 8 of the member 7, and the valve is closed quickly. |
