PURPOSE:To enhance the volume efficiency as well as the weight efficiency of a lead acid battery by inserting an assembled element into a monoblock container, connecting plate lags to form conductive parts, before the container is turned upside down and is fixed to a lid packed with an adhesive. CONSTITUTION:Positive plates, negative plates and separators 5 are stacked in layers, which are inserted into a monoblock container 1. Protruding positive plate lags 14 and negative plate lags 15 are connected by welding, thereby connection conductive parts, positive terminals 11 and negative terminals 12 being formed. Following that, the container 1 is inverted, and the connection conductive parts, the positive and the negative terminals 11 and 12 are fitted in concave parts 18 and 21, which are provided on a lid 17 and are packed with an adhesive, thereby, a unified battery being constituted. By the means mentioned above, the height of the container 1 can be almost the same as the height of the plates, with an extremely small space allowed over the plates, since any strap or pole is not provided. Consequently, the volume efficiency of the battery can be enhanced. In addition, the weight efficiency of the battery can be improved owing to the decreased number of parts made of lead. |
