The vehicle power-assisted steering has a control actuating a transmission in two parts (13A,13B) capable of limited angular displacement in relation to each other, this displacement causing fluid under pressure to be supplied via a distributor to a ram acting on the steering gear. The distributor comprises a stator with supply and return ports (26,27), also actuating ports (28,29) connected to the ram, and contains adjacent rotors (40,41) fixed to the ports, while others in the second rotor work with those in the first and with the actuating ports. The stator pressure and return ports are connected respectively to two chambers (47,49) bordered by the first rotor (40).
