The domestic circulating hot water heating system uses a refractory block to store heat obtained at cheap rates and has forced air circulation down passes through the block to move heated air past coils carrying the circulating water. The refractory block is enclosed in a thermally isolating wall. A fan at the top of the block forces air down vertical passages through the block. The wall enclosing the block is open at the bottom and the warmed air passes round the outside of this wall through a passage formed by the surrounding outer wall. The passage contains metallic tubing carrying the circulating water. An electric element embedded in the block provides heat, and the air flow is blocked to reduce heat loss during heating of the block.
