Switching control of regulator - uses bridge circuit with switching transistors to control operation

A regulator that responds to a difference in command and actual parameters is based around a bridge circuit. The circuit is of the type used to control storage heating systems. A bridge circuit (8) is contained within a regulator housing (1) and has terminals (2,3) for connection to an external reference level setting potentiometer (7). Within the bridge circuit is a sensing potentiometer that responds to the actual controlled signal level. Coupled into the sensor circuit is the emitter collector of a transistor (16) that is controlled by a second transistor (21), coupled to the reference input stage.
